Some experiences rise above the comfortable every-day landscape of the 9 to 5.. be it first impressions, shifting perspectives or just a deeper understanding of the reality/illusion beyond your fingertips.

Whao. My crazy 3rd day at work
So I show up to the client site and meet the 2 co-workers that I'll be with for this project. We're sitting down having lunch and all of a sudden my male colleague falls over. Hmm kinda funny but strange. Then he doesn't get back up, and his leg looks broken. Then I find out his entire right half of his body can't move. As we help him back up and call 911, someone from the client company comes over and checks his symptoms. Apparently the guy I just met 15 minutes ago seemed to be having a stroke. As the paramedics came into the cafeteria they concurred after running some tests and lied him down on the stretcher for the ambulance ride to the hospital. Both my co-worker and I were dumbfounded. The manager told us to go to the hospital, but first she got us to work on our project again before we left! We found out more about our fallen colleague's status at the ER. It didn't look good. He would have to be transfered to a hospital with a neurosurgery facility. While we were in the waiting room my task-oriented co-worker again asked me if I wanted to go over work stuff with the manager! That was not helping with my perception of this cold and heartless company. I ended up leaving the waiting room after things calmed down a bit, and have just been thinking since. Apparently my fallen co-worker had a case of high blood pressure, possibly among other things. I think I really need to exercise and stop going out so much. I really hope that he gets through this.

Goodbye Unemployed Bliss
Goodbye fleeting unemployed bliss, your end came too soon. I will miss you lazy mornings and slothful afternoons. My procrastinated personal projects I fear you will have to sit on the shelf a little longer. For the unplanned, aimless days of limitless potential are over. Spontaneous trips will be replaced with routine exhaustion. It's time again for the corporate grind!

Hello bum life
Hello aimless days. Hello long nights and late mornings. Welcome mindless job hunting, ridiculous interviews, anxious expectations and haste disappointments. Hello relaxing roadtrips, unemployed friends and free food at job fairs. Greetings apathy, angst, uncertainty and transition. Begin the lazy life now.

Goodbye Ya Stoopid Company
Goodbye cushy complacent job. Goodbye lax hours and spoiling perks. I will miss you company laptop, you were my right arm. My desk is emptier now that you're gone company printer. Life will be tougher without you company car, you helped take me and my friends to alot of places, and I mean alot of places! Thanks for the DSL, the phone line, the expensed meals, the long commute, the endless airports and airplanes, the aimless work, the careless management and the meaningless challenges. Goodbye... and good riddance!
